The Vagabond Archive
reading room for the archives of:
Wolfi Landstreicher
Bacchus Editions is currently undertaking long-term physical and digital archival preservation work surrounding the writings, translations, correspondences, pamphlets, journals, unpublished materials, ephemera, and scattered textual history of three figures, including the person known as Wolfi Landstreicher.
This is not a small undertaking.
For over four decades, Wolfi’s writings have moved through newspapers, marginal publications, insurrectionary journals, pamphlets, underground correspondence networks, temporary projects, translations, personal exchanges, diaries, and countless fragments dispersed across an enormous international anarchist milieu. Much of the material survives only through deteriorating scans, out-of-print printings, partial archives, obsolete websites, private collections, and scattered physical documents accumulated across a lifetime of writing, wandering, friendship, conflict, et agitation.
The archive is therefore being approached as an ongoing, evolving terrain rather than a fixed collection already assembled.
Over time, this space will gather essays, rare texts, historical materials, interviews, translations, unpublished writings, visual documents, correspondences, and difficult-to-find ephemera spanning the breadth of Wolfi’s intellectual and personal trajectory.
The page will remain in continual construction.
Additional materials will continue appearing gradually as the restoration, organization, scanning, and transcription work proceeds.
