In Production: New Book by Wolfi Landstreicher, ‘Dancing Into Oblivion: Poetic Explorations of Dying.’

Dancing Into Oblivion: Poetic Explorations of Dying, by Wolfi Landstreicher is now in production and will be available August 2026.

This collection gathers his thoughts on death and dying in verse: forests, oceans, oblivion, wandering, sorrow, ecstatic laughter, decay, cosmic blackness, eros, insomnia, and the strange beauty of vanishing back into earthly flow.

His verse moves through Dionysian dreamscapes, moonlit ruin, exhaustion with civilization, and moments of startling tenderness without ever becoming sentimental about mortality.

Some poems feel like midnight hallucinations whispered beside a fire, others read like ecstatic hymns to dissolution.

Again et encore, the collection returns to a longing not merely to die, but to disappear beautifully, consciously, artistically. Oceans become lovers. Forests ask to devour the body. Darkness becomes something intimate rather than feared.

If you know him, you already know there is exhaustion here, certainly. Weariness with the human world. But there is also immense hunger: for beauty, intensity, sensuality, laughter, wildness, storms, stars, dance, et the full experience of being alive before the final fading-out.

This collection is a refusal of gray survival in favor of the excessive, the passionate, the vividly lived.

And despite the title, despite the subject matter, the book is often unexpectedly playful. Ribald. Strange. Cosmic. Full of outlaw joy. A dark celebration.

Dancing Into Oblivion is in production now. Available August 2026.
